Your email address and any preferences you select when you join an email list we offer.

You comment
Name, email, optional website, and IP address submitted with a comment, per standard WordPress behavior.

Device & log data
IP address, browser, OS, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps.

Usage
Which articles you view, time on page, scroll depth, and interaction events like clicks.

Approximate location
General region derived from your IP (city or metro level). We do not collect precise GPS.

How we measure readership

We use privacy-respecting analytics tools, which may include Jetpack Stats and Google Analytics, to understand how readers use the site in aggregate. These tools collect information such as pages viewed, time on page, device type, and approximate location. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Who receives information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

Vendors we rely on to run the site — hosting (WordPress.com / Automattic), email, analytics, and advertising partners — process data on our behalf under contract.

Advertising partners
Ad networks such as Google AdSense and their certified partners may receive information described in the Advertising section.

Legal & safety
We may disclose information to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our readers, the Company, or others.

Business transfers
If Northfund LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, reader information may be transferred, subject to this policy.

We will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a lower level of service for exercising these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email marketcontextco@gmail.com with the subject line “California Privacy Request.” We may need to verify your identity before responding. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission.

Children, security, and transfers

Not for children under 13. TMC is a general-audience business publication. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, email us and we will delete it.
Reasonable safeguards. We use technical, administrative, and physical safeguards. No method is perfectly secure.
Retention. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here. Log and analytics data are generally retained up to 26 months in aggregated form.
International readers. TMC is operated from the United States. If you access from outside the US, your information will be processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ.
Changes. We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will change and material updates will be announced on the homepage or by email.
